About the role

Akkroo has now reached an exciting point in our journey where we need someone to oversee and develop our internal QA activity as a key part of our multi-disciplinary product and engineering squads. The role offers a unique opportunity for someone seeking work which will be hands-on, and with strategic elements. The main responsibilities will be:

 

Running the QA part of our agile development and release process

  • Perform functional, regression, exploratory, API and other appropriate testing
  • Participate in feature reviews as part of our cross-functional development squads, conduct quality assurance tasks & sign off software releases
  • Develop quality assurance test cases and maintain our test case repository
  • Reproduce bugs in-house and track them throughout the bug life cycle
  • Perform software defect reporting using JIRA to track software-bug issues and life-cycle
  • Analyse systems software feature requirements & provide critical feedback
  • Proactively engaging engineers in their test planning and continuously advocating for a strong culture of QA within the business

 

Mobile & Dashboard testing

  • More than 2 years experience testing both mobile and web-based applications

 

Develop the infrastructure of QA

  • Bring in tools to manage the testing process
  • Incorporate third party testing services as required
  • Work across teams to develop appropriate facilities to improve how we test

 

Monitoring and improving quality standards across all our product, technical and service offerings 

Who we’re looking for…

We’re hoping to find a self-directed, highly motivated individual looking for a role where they can make an impact. We’re specifically looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Prior experience as a QA, either as part of a team, or even better – having run a team
  • A curious mind, who demonstrates both analytical and technical skillsets
  • Experience in an agile working environment
  • Ideally some experience writing code either as a hobby or vocation
  • A high attention to detail
  • Excellent English and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • If you have an interest or skills in test automation, that would be desirable, but not essential.

What’s on offer:

We’re looking to pay a starting salary of £50,000 – £60,000 for this role. We are committed to ratcheting salaries as we grow, so you’ll be rewarded for being an amazing teammate and contributing to our growth!
